Uniform Insignias of the
Delaware State Police



dsppat1c.gif (27482 bytes) In 1925, the first State Police patch was blue and white in color and depicted a spoked wheel with wings and an arrow.
In 1929, the second State Police patch : a diamond stating "STATE POLICE " khaki and blue in color depicting a mother hen and three chicks. (represents the state and its three counties) In 1942, the third State Police patch: similar to the 1929 patch. Only change was "STATE POLICE" was moved within the diamond. dsppat2c.gif (14012 bytes)
dsppat3c.gif (14479 bytes) In 1944, the fourth State Police patch: a diamond stating "DELAWARE STATE POLICE". The border was navy blue as was the lettering. The background was yellow.
In 1956, the fifth and present State Police patch is a seven color patch depicting the Delaware Great Seal. dsppsm1.gif (19824 bytes)

Delaware State Trooper.
This patch was designed in 1998 for the 75th Anniversary of the Delaware State Police.  Although, never worn on a uniform, this patch was made for memorabilia. dsp75sm2.gif (22104 bytes)
